Job summary

HFCA is seeking a School Safety Assistant to support supervision, safety monitoring, and student well-being in a dynamic K-12 campus setting.

You will partner with the Operations and Culture teams to promote a welcoming, secure learning environment and to ensure consistent safety protocols across the school campus. The role emphasizes de-escalation, climate management, and collaboration with leadership to uphold HFCA values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of experience working with youth in educational, community, or safety settings.
• Ability to engage respectfully with adolescents and build trust-based relationships.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with de-escalation abilities.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and HFCA’s PRIDE values.
• Familiarity with school safety technologies and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence across hallways, entrances, and common areas to promote safety and order.
• Patrol school grounds and designated areas during assigned hours to ensure security.
• Monitor entry and dismissal for authorized access and safe transitions.
• Conduct hall sweeps to prevent loitering, truancy, or disruption.
• Observe and report unsafe or prohibited activity to the Dean of Culture or Principal.
• Assist in visitor management and building access procedures.
