Job summary

California State University, Long Beach seeks a proactive Risk Manager to identify and mitigate campus risk, oversee insurance programs, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will interpret complex laws, draft policies, and coordinate with campus leaders, legal counsel, and IT to protect the university’s interests.

The role requires at least 5 years in risk management and a Bachelor’s degree, with ARM/CRM preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years risk management experience including claims management.
• Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or CRM designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and minimize campus risk; interpret laws and policies to develop risk management programs.
• Manage campus tort liability and commercial insurance programs and claims (excluding workers’ comp).
• Draft legal holds and coordinate with IT and University Counsel as part of legal proceedings.
