BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE Sumiton store is seeking a Campus Retail Associate to join our campus team and deliver exceptional customer service while supporting store operations and cash handling. This temporary role offers flexible scheduling and exposure to all facets of retail operations within a college store.

As part of the campus community, you will help ensure a welcoming shopping environment, assist customers, and contribute to the store’s daily success and student-focused services.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
• Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn in a fast-paced team environment.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Flexible availability throughout the academic year, including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience.
• Support store operations including operating equipment and cash register with speed and accuracy.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products.
• Adhere to schedule, including weekends and shifts for 90-day temporary periods.
• Perform routine housekeeping such as dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, and trash removal.
