Barnes & Noble College in Brenham, TX is seeking a Campus Retail Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and support store operations across daily sales activities.

You will greet customers, process transactions, stock shelves, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This is a temporary, 90-day position with flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Confident in engaging customers to deliver a positive experience.
• Positive attitude, eager to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced team.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Flexible availability during the academic year, including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions via cash, credit, or financial aid.
• Greet customers and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Support store operations and operate cash register with speed and accuracy.
• Keep shelves tidy and organize products within the store.
• Work 90-day temporary periods with weekends and varied shifts.
• Perform routine housekeeping like dusting, mopping, and trash removal.

Overview

As a Campus Retail Associate you will provide superior customer service to our customers and support store leaders in all facets of retail operations to ensure the store is operating at optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Temporary positions require availability to work on a weekly basis for a period of 90 days or less with occasional weekends, and flexibility in scheduling for opening, midday, or closing shifts.
• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Physical Demands

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting.
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
