Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is hiring a Campus Retail Associate to help deliver outstanding customer service and support store operations on campus.

You will greet customers, process sales and payments, keep shelves organized, and assist with periodic housekeeping. The role is seasonal, with peak-period scheduling and opportunities to develop retail and leadership skills in a dynamic campus environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Greet customers and focus on their positive experience.
• Support store operations including operating equipment and cash register with speed and accuracy.
• Keep the store organized and presentable by shelving and cleaning.
• Seasonal positions require work during peak periods, occasional weekends, and flexible scheduling.
• Routine housekeeping (dusting, mopping, etc.).

Responsibilities

Expectations:

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Seasonal positions require work during peak periods (i.e. semester starts and ends), occasional weekends, and flexibility in scheduling to work periodically during the school year.
• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Physical Demands

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products
• Ability to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting.
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Qualifications

• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
