Job summary

Cornell College seeks a full-time refrigeration technician to perform food service equipment and general facility maintenance under supervision. The role spans routine to highly skilled tasks with responsibility for problem identification and efficient resource use.

The candidate will handle preventive maintenance, monitor HVAC via BAS, and maintain CMMS records, while participating in on-call rotations and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED plus five years' experience in food service equipment maintenance.
• Must possess hand and power tool proficiency and testing/calibration skills.
• EPA refrigeration certification is required.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license and insurability to drive are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on food service equipment and general facilities systems.
• Identify problems, determine solutions, and resolve issues.
• Assist with renovations and remodeling of buildings as needed.
• Monitor HVAC efficiency via BAS and DDC controls.
• Maintain maintenance records using CMMS software.
• Manage parts ordering, inventory, and maintenance budget.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests in on-call rotations.
• Identify and correct safety hazards and maintain organized workspace.
