Job summary

UCF is seeking a Recycling Specialist I to manage refuse collection on campus, operate recycling trucks and equipment, and coordinate disposal needs with campus customers. The role emphasizes safety, routine maintenance, and adherence to regulations.

Minimum qualifications include completion of 9th grade, with preference for English communication, vehicle operation, adaptability, and familiarity with IWMS software. On-site work schedule is Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in conversational English to work with customers and team members.
• Able to operate a vehicle as necessary and essential tools/equipment.
• Adaptable in assignments and able to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate vehicles including recycling truck and other equipment.
• Pickup refuse materials from campus locations daily and transport offsite when needed.
• Perform general campus cleanup and empty receptacles.
• Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs or painting on containers.
• Monitor vehicle cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate pickups with customers and assess disposal needs.
• Inspect and inventory containers; identify hazardous materials.
