Job summary

CU Boulder’s Facilities Management is hiring a Recycling Collections Crew member to collect recyclables, set up drop-off sites, and maintain central collection points on campus. The role supports after-hours emergencies and reports for regular shifts during campus closures.

The position requires physical work, the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, and CMV certification within 60 days. It offers an essential services schedule with a 10-hour shift pattern, primarily on campus in Boulder.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and professional interaction with customers.
  • Reliable, able to work well in a small crew and follow supervisor guidance.
  • Able to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
  • CMV certification required within first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and collect recyclables and other materials from campus via designated routes or special collections.
  • Maintain and manage central collection sites, enclosures and cabinets; repair or replace damaged containers.
  • Maintain route records, fuel, travel, mileage and vehicle inspection logs; update route sheets as needed.
  • Perform vehicle/equipment maintenance, inspect fluids, and coordinate minor repairs or maintenance.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies and assist with campus reopenings as required.
