Job summary

Cal State East Bay seeks a Recreation Programs Coordinator to lead Fitness Programs and IMS initiatives, manage operations of the Fitness Center, and supervise student staff. The role focuses on developing and evaluating programs, collecting data, and coordinating with RWUU staff on annual reporting and facility needs.

The candidate will design curricula, track participant outcomes, and drive Move More Daily campaigns while ensuring safety and high service standards across campus recreation

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience including hiring, mentoring, and related student staffing issues.
• Knowledge of fitness programs, personal training, and intramural sports best practices.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to work across the organization.
• Service orientation, program management, sound judgment and decision-making.
• Effective communication across all organization levels; budgeting and planning experience.
• Experience in assessing, designing, and evaluating outreach for college students.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and schedule student and non-student employees for fitness programs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate staff meetings, ongoing training, and leadership development.
• Assess growth, provide feedback, and mentor staff for skill development.
• Establish a high level of member experience through service delivery.
• Oversee intramural program structure, assessment, and expansion.
• Supervise officials and coordinate intramural sports participation.
• Monitor fitness equipment inventory and maintenance; coordinate sanitation schedules.
• Develop Move More Daily Campaign and evaluate program impact.
• Assist in safety, risk management, and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain policy manuals, usage statistics and program reports.
