Job summary

Sam Houston State University seeks a Student Employee-Campus Recreation-Operations Staff to support the Campus Rec Center operations, including safety, cleaning, and customer service. The role requires late nights, early mornings, and weekend shifts, with a maximum of 25 hours per week.

You will assist with facility operations, enforce policies, help with first aid, and provide accurate information to patrons.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as SHSU student with 6+ credit hours.
• Must pass STATE Texas criminal background check.
• Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist up to 300 patron visits per shift as main point of contact.
• Ensure safety by knowing building policies and evacuation procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service with clear communication.
• Maintain professional appearance and positive attitude during shifts.
• Provide current information about recreation programs and facilities.
• Assist with facility operations: setup/teardown, cleaning, reports.
• Report to supervisors and lead staff for tasks.
• May assist other departments within Campus Rec.
• This is a cleaning-heavy position.
