Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must successfully complete POST certification within one year of employment.
• Must possess a current, valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Must pass background checks: Position of Trust + Credit Check; Motor Vehicle Record; Physical Examination; Drug Testing; Psychological Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Patrols to detect and deter crime and to offer assistance when needed.
• Enforces parking regulations; issues citations.
• Investigates suspicious activities or persons.
• Checks the security of buildings.
• Prepares required reports.
• Investigates traffic accidents and criminal or non-criminal incidents.
• Makes arrests of individuals who have committed crimes.
• Testifies in court as required.
• Provides assistance to motorists.
• Responds to emergency incidents.
• Provides security and traffic enforcement at special events.
• Serves as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Act.
• Performs other related duties.
