Job summary

The Art Institute of Chicago is seeking a Project Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of construction and facilities projects across campus. You will work with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities include document control, cost tracking, RFIs, submittals, inspections, and closeout activities. A Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, facilities management, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in construction, project engineering, facilities, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with construction drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, and contracts.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports Project Managers in planning and executing construction, renovation, infrastructure, and facility projects across campus.
• Monitors project schedules, tracks progress, and coordinates resolutions to minimize impacts on operations.
• Reviews construction drawings, specifications, contractor submissions, and shop drawings for compliance.
