Fort Valley State University is seeking a Police Sergeant/Investigator to supervise sworn police, security officers, and communications staff across campus. The Sergeant is POST-certified to handle emergency and non-emergency responses and coordinates risk management enterprise-wide.

The role requires a minimum of an Associate degree with 3+ years supervisory experience, a valid Georgia drivers license, and adherence to POST standards. Primary hours are 3–11 pm with recall in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
• More than three years of supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver's license issued by Georgia required.
• Ability to meet Georgia POST requirements or be eligible.

Responsabilités

• Supervise sworn police, security, and communications officers.
• Oversee investigations, crime scenes, warrants and arrests.
• Manage emergency responses and risk management across campus.
• Review daily reports, conduct evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Prepare records and testify in court as needed.
• Patrol campus and outer perimeter as assigned; recall in emergencies.

Formation
