The University of Louisville Police Department seeks qualified candidates for Patrol Officer Recruit, Patrol Officer I, and Patrol Officer II (Lateral).

These positions provide law enforcement and public safety services to the University community through patrol, enforcement of applicable laws, crime prevention, and emergency response. Applicants will be considered based on training, sworn status, POPS certification, and full-time sworn experience.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required, plus 2 years of experience for Patrol Officer II.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• U.S. citizenship at time of appointment.
• DOCJT POPS certification or eligibility; police academy recognized by DOCJT.
• Candidate must pass written exam, oral interviews, drug screening, physical, psychological evaluation, and background investigation.

• Provide law enforcement and public safety services to the University community through patrol and enforcement of laws and regulations.
• Conduct crime prevention, emergency response, investigations, and traffic control.
• Engage with community members to promote safety and build trust; coordinate with university stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Kentucky POPS certification requirements and contribute to a safe campus environment.
