Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is seeking a Temporary Police Officer within the University Police department. The role is a part-time, continuous pool position reporting to the Patrol Sergeant and involves enforcing laws, investigating incidents, maintaining order, and protecting campus properties.

Responsibilities include protecting life and property, conducting investigations, traffic control, and providing crime prevention education.

Qualifications

• Completed 60 college credits at time of application.
• Wisconsin Certified Law Enforcement Officer or certifiable upon appointment.
• Possession of or eligibility to obtain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license upon appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection of life, property, and the preservation of peace and good order and provide emergency aid to the institutional community.
• Perform preliminary and follow‑up investigations to solve crimes, identify suspects and victims, apprehend criminals, and document case information.
• Engage in problem solving, threat mitigation, and conflict resolution for a wide range of issues and incidents involving citizens, groups, campus entities, government agencies, businesses, leaders, and others.
• Ensure the safe and orderly flow of traffic on institutional roadways and enforce traffic laws.
• Provide personal safety and crime prevention education to institutional community.
