Job summary

Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) is seeking a Campus Police Officer to safeguard students, staff, and visitors on campus property. You will respond to calls, enforce laws and college rules, and conduct investigations with thorough reporting to protect the campus community.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, completed BLET, and be prepared for NC CJ Standards certification. Associates degree is preferred; expect police duties across multiple shifts and possible

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of BLET and readiness for NC CJ Standards certification.
• Associates degree is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and college police protocols.

Responsibilities

• Respond to student, faculty, and public calls for service on campus.
• Enforce criminal/traffic laws, college rules, and campus regulations.
• Investigate incidents, write detailed reports, and preserve evidence.
• Patrol campus buildings and grounds; respond to medical emergencies as needed.
• Work various shifts and may be on call; ensure public safety and positive campus image.
