Job summary

Penn State University Police & Public Safety is seeking Act 120 certified officers to join a centralized team protecting over 100,000 students, staff and visitors across Penn State campuses. Officers will patrol, educate, investigate, and enforce laws and university policies to maintain safety and order.

The role requires MPOETC certification or eligibility, strong communication and ethical standards, and a commitment to serving diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of information technology, software applications, surveillance equipment, social media, and communications in investigations is highly preferred.
• Candidates must be at least 21 years of age on or before start date.
• Successful background checks and MPOETC requirements must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Protect life and property on university campuses and enforce laws and university policies.
• Engage with the campus community and collaborate with internal and external agencies.
• Provide credible testimony in court hearings and maintain professional conduct at all times.
