Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; transcript may be requested.
• One year of security or police experience preferred; able to work rotating shifts.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Must meet pre-employment requirements including background check and fingerprints.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus to deter crime and maintain building security.
• Patrol parking facilities to prevent theft and vandalism and issue citations.
• Apprehend and file charges against suspects when appropriate.
• Preserve evidence until collected by investigators.
• Provide testimony in court when subpoenaed.
• Regulate traffic and investigate accidents; file reports.
• Respond to alarms and check for intruders or burglars.
• Inspect buildings to ensure doors/windows are secure and lights on/off.
• Provide security for events and escorts as needed.
• Assist with training for campus community and officers.
• Coordinate with Community Relations and other agencies as needed.
• Comply with University and Campus Police policies.
• Participate in mandatory training and maintain POST certification.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
