Job Description

Sworn officer, firearms qualified. Establishes and maintains a safe atmosphere for faculty, staff, students, and visitors by providing police and security services.

General Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass physical agility test (PAT) prior to final offer
  • Drug testing and medical management required
  • Successful background check
  • Pre-employment psychological evaluation
  • Pre-employment physical exam within WV State Police Academy requirements
  • Pre-employment polygraph test
  • Must attend West Virginia Basic Law Enforcement Academy within one year if not already certified
  • Must be bondable

  • 6-12 months of experience dealing with the public or equivalent (education, military, or law enforcement/criminal justice program)

  • Must obtain and maintain West Virginia Law Enforcement Officer Certification
