Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed at least 2 years of employment as a full-time sworn and certified law enforcement officer.
• Applicant must have been employed as sworn police officers within the past 24 months.
• Must possess certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) or be eligible for certification by ILETSB.
• Applicant must not have been suspended for disciplinary reasons by the current or most recent employer.
• Must pass background investigation including fingerprinting, records checks, credit checks, and inquiries as applicable.
• Must successfully complete a screening such as polygraph, psychological evaluation, medical examination, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide campus safety, security, and law enforcement services to the University community.
• Enforce University regulations, local ordinances, and state laws; respond to incidents and emergencies.
• Act as first responders; conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations as needed.
• Engage in crime prevention and community-oriented public safety programming.
• Work under the direction of a police supervisor; overtime may be anticipated.
