Bowie State University is seeking a University Police Officer I (Evergreen) to support campus safety and security within the Police Department. The officer will participate in training and perform entry-level law enforcement duties under supervision, including patrols and incident response.

Responsibilities include enforcing regulations, writing reports, and providing customer service to campus members. Requires completing a background check, medical prep, and a valid Maryland driver’s license,

Qualifications

• Passing the Maryland Police Correctional Training Commission exam before an employment offer is extended.
• Background investigation, physical examination and drug testing are required.
• Must possess a valid Maryland Driver’s License.
• Work outdoors under varying weather and around heavy traffic.

Responsabilités

• Patrol assigned areas and observe unsafe or suspicious activity, taking appropriate action.
• Observe violations of college rules or laws and enforce required procedures.
• Write clear, complete incident and action reports.
• Enforce parking and traffic regulations on campus.
• Report any unsafe conditions affecting public safety.
