Job summary

Brandeis University seeks a Police Officer I to patrol campus buildings and grounds, enforce state laws and university regulations, and support campus safety efforts in Brandeis, MA. You will interact with the community, respond to alarms, and assist with emergencies.

Requirements include an associate degree, MA driver’s license, POS T certification, and completion of medical/physical and psych evaluations; firearm qualification and CPR/First Aid training are also required. Full-time position.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; up to 2 years of related work experience.
• MA state driver's license required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Must complete Commonwealth P.O.S.T certified academy; firearm license per Dept. standards; First Aid and CPR.
• Medical/physical exam incl. drug/alcohol testing and pre-employment psych eval.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings, grounds and adjacent areas; enforce laws and campus regs; report irregularities.
• Investigate complaints; prepare detailed investigative reports.
• Enforce parking and traffic regulations; investigate accidents; manage campus traffic.
• May perform overtime campus police detail duties at events; provide emergency transportation when needed.
• Handle dispatch duties: acknowledge reports, dispatch patrols, monitor alarms and CCTV.
