Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Completion of Commonwealth P.O.S.T. certified academy.
• Must obtain and retain Massachusetts Class A firearms license and complete firearms qualifications.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Successful completion of medical/physical as required by the University, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Pre-employment psychological examination may be required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol University buildings, grounds and adjacent areas.
• Enforce Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws and Brandeis University regulations.
• Inspect interiors and exteriors; secure doors and report irregularities.
• Respond to intrusion/fire alarms; investigate and document incidents.
• Enforce campus vehicle parking and traffic regulations; manage traffic.
• May perform overtime campus police detail duties and provide emergency transportation.
• Handle dispatch duties; operate the communications network and monitor alarms/CCTV.
