Job summary

The University of Oklahoma Tulsa Police Department is hiring Police Officers to protect people, property and campus life. Officers patrol on foot or by vehicle, enforce laws and university policies, respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and provide security for events.

Required include high school diploma or GED, Oklahoma driver's license, CLEET certification within 6 months, CPR, medical and fitness tests, and psychometric assessments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass medical exam and physical fitness test.
• Must pass standardized aptitude test and psychometric assessments (MMPI, CPI).

Responsibilities

• Report writing and evidence collection.
• Serve warrants and testify in court.
• Traffic and parking enforcement and building security.
• Patrol on foot or by vehicle and respond to emergencies.
• Assist campus community and provide CSA duties.

Officers also serve as Campus Security Authorities (CSA), report suspicious or hazardous activity, and may perform armed courier duties.

Required Certifications And Licenses

• Valid Oklahoma Driver's License upon hire


• Must be certified as a Peace Officer by the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) within 6 months of hire


• Obtain and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification through the department


• Must pass medical exam, as well as a physical fitness test


• Must pass standardized written aptitude test, pass Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and California Psychological Inventory (CPI) psychometric tests
