Job summary

Bucknell University is accepting applications for Utilities Technician I or II - Plumber. The successful candidate will install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in campus buildings.

The Utilities Technician will be expected to adhere to federal standards, employee safe practices, and to follow university safety policies and procedures. This second-shift position operates Monday to Friday, 11:00am – 7:30pm on campus.

Qualifications

  • Plumber I requires 2-year associates or technical degree, or high school diploma plus 2 years plumbing experience.
  • Plumber II requires 2-year associates or technical degree plus 2 years experience, or high school diploma plus 4 years.
  • Preferred - Vocational or technical training.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair campus plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Install, maintain, and retrofit fire sprinkler/prevention systems to NFPA standards.
  • Maintain water treatment equipment and controls for building systems.
  • Perform backflow preventer testing and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair ventilation and hydronic systems as needed.
  • Support projects and outages with proper planning and walkthroughs.
