Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Student Personal Trainer for the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center. You will guide members of the KU community—students, staff, faculty, affiliates, retirees, spouses, and domestic partners—through personalized training programs to meet health and fitness goals.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED certification with in-person skills component or willingness to obtain within 4 weeks.
• ACE CPT program through KU Recreation Services and pass a NCCA CPT exam within 6 months or currently possess a NCCA CPT.
• Experience using cardiovascular and resistance training equipment such as selectorized machines, plate-loaded machines, and free weights.

Responsibilities

• Define specific, measurable fitness goals and lead progressive training programs including mobility, flexibility, and resistance training.
• Mitigate injury risk, teach proper technique, enforce policies, re-rack weights and spot lifts.
• Communicate with program staff, document sessions, ensure payment for packages, maintain client records.
