Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Part Time Campus Patrol in Austin, TX. You will patrol campus areas, assist students and staff, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents.

The role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to work across a range of campus environments. The position requires at least one year of security experience, customer service skills, and the ability to use a computer or tablet.

Qualifications

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Have customer service experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and contacting appropriate campus personnel or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and general information, and report unauthorized access or policy concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrol observations, and security-related matters.
