Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools is seeking a Child Nutrition Specialist to join the cafeteria team. The role supports breakfast, lunch and supper service, ensuring safe, nutritious meals and positive student experiences across campus.

You will work on the serving line, prepare meals per recipes, and help maintain HACCP, sanitation and safety standards while collaborating with the Site Supervisor. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a Food Handler certificate, and preferably one year in

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Food Handler certification required.
• 1 year in food/hospitality roles preferred.
• Experience in school-based Child Nutrition preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, growing organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the Child Nutrition Program requirements.
• Serve meals on the serving line to ensure fast, smooth service.
• Comply with Health Department Codes for food service.
• Follow safety procedures and report injuries or unsafe conditions.
• Support Site Supervisor with kitchen and cafeteria duties.
• Prepare products according to recipes and maintain quality, taste and presentation.
• Adhere to HACCP, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
• Maintain kitchen and cafeteria cleanliness and organize stock safely.
• Operate dish machines per specifications and manage detergents/sanitizers.
