Job Summary

A Campus Ministry student worker is responsible for assisting the Department of Campus Ministry in its outreach and ministry to the Seton Hall University Community, focusing on office management, event planning/executing, and adult faith formation. The position works closely with staff including the Director, Associate Director, and Campus Minister for Discipleship, and maintains regular office hours in the Campus Ministry Center.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform office tasks such as copying, sorting, filing, typing, answering messages, sorting mail, watering plants, and other general office duties.
  • Assist the Campus Ministry and University Parish Secretaries with office-related tasks as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and a welcoming environment in all Campus Ministry spaces across campus.
  • Assist in setting up and cleaning up for meetings, programming, and events, including Open Houses and Orientation.
  • Distribute flyers, posters, brochures, and other advertisements in campus public spaces.
  • Update Campus Ministry bulletin boards in residential dorms as needed.
  • Help plan, advertise, execute, and evaluate community-building events.
  • Participate in setting up and cleaning up weekly Thursday Campus Ministry Night events.
  • Order supplies/materials for community events.
  • Collaborate with campus partners on co-sponsored events.
  • Assist with hospitality and other events after Sunday Masses as needed.
  • Maintain regular office hours in the Campus Ministry Center, as discussed with the Director and Associate Director.
  • Work with the Director of Discipleship to assess and address students’ pastoral needs.
  • Assist in developing, planning, executing, and evaluating student retreats.
  • Support faith formation and discipleship events for CSJ, FOCUS, and SPO groups.
Federal Work Study Requirement

YES — Federal Work Study eligibility required (check your 2025/26 Financial Aid Award Offer).

Required Qualifications
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student at Seton Hall University.
  • Availability on Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm during Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Availability for all Open Houses and Admissions events.
  • Availability on Sunday evenings (6:00 pm - 10:00 pm) as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications

Familiarity with the beliefs and liturgical practices of the Roman Catholic faith is preferred.
