Job summary

Bethel University in Arden Hills, MN, seeks a part-time Mental Health Counselor I to provide compassionate individual counseling to students while maintaining a Christ-centered approach. The position is 30 hours per week during the academic year, with summers off, on-campus duties, and a starting salary of $40,000–$45,000.

Office hours typically 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with some flexibility to craft a 30-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree is required in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, or closely related field.
• Must be licensed or license-eligible as LMFT or LPCC in Minnesota.
• 1+ years of experience in adult mental health counseling; university setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality individual mental health counseling/psychotherapy to Bethel University students.
• Offer relational counseling to help students build healthy connections.
• Integrate clinical experience with understanding of student experiences.
• Ensure clinical integrity through documentation and reporting.
• Manage caseload to ensure consistent, attentive care.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings, supervision, and campus events.
• Provide psycho-educational training for students, staff, and faculty.
• Serve as consultative partner during Bethel Care Team meetings and university committees.
• Engage in professional development and maintain credentials.
• Provide guidance to counseling interns when supervisors are unavailable.
