Job summary

Tidewater Tech in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a diligent Maintenance Technician to perform general, routine and preventative upkeep of campus facilities, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. You will maintain records and uphold safety standards.

The role requires at least 3 years of commercial property maintenance experience, a HS diploma or GED (trade certification a plus), and ability to work a flexible schedule. Compensation is up to $22 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or equitable on‑the‑job experience.
• Trade School Certification (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.) is a plus.
• A minimum of three years in general maintenance of commercial property.

Responsibilities

• Perform general/routine and preventative maintenance for the campus.
• Handle basic repairs, including minor fixes to doors, locks or leaks.
• Perform cleaning activities to keep buildings and campus property in good condition.
• Monitor parking lot and remove hazards as needed.
• Respond to repair or maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Use power and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Keep accurate maintenance records for repairs and maintenance activities.
• Follow safety procedures during all maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with supervisor to prioritize and resolve work requests.
