Job summary

University of Missouri-Saint Louis is seeking a Mail Carrier I to support the UMSL Postal Services, performing sorting, delivery, and collection of campus mail across designated routes. The role requires adherence to routing procedures, accuracy, and a reliable attendance record.

The position operates Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm (40 hours/week) with a pay range of $15.00–$17.50 per hour and is eligible for University benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid Missouri driver's license (for local operations).
• Good physical health to perform walking and lifting duties.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and handle mail securely.

Responsibilities

• Accurately sort incoming mail and distribute to departments.
• Collect and prepare outgoing mail and check returned mail pieces.
• May deliver and obtain signed receipts for accountable mail (certified/registered/insured/Express).
• Coordinate courier service to UM Columbia.
• Operate mail vehicles and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
