Job summary

The University of Notre Dame Athletics is seeking lifeguards for the Rolfs Aquatic Center to guard the competition pool year round. This non-benefit role offers 2–5 hour shifts and about 10–15 hours per week, with training available for those who do not meet minimum qualifications.

Qualifications

• Must possess current certification in the following: American Red Cross Lifeguarding; First Aid; American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
• Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Must possess leadership, public relations and decision making skills as well as an understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
• Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations; inspect the facility daily.
• Complete records and reports; participate in inservice training and maintain fitness levels.
