Qualifications

• Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. One year’s experience in institutional food preparation.
• Preferred: Culinary training program certificate or Associate’s degree; 2+ years’ experience and ServeSafe certification.
• Knowledge of all aspects of food preparation, cooking and nutrition; good personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily center meals and ensure readiness to serve according to schedule.
• Maintain inventory of foodstuffs and request additional food as necessary.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist in serving meals and in reporting unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
• Maintain daily record of food costs and amount of food used.
• Attend staff training sessions and perform other duties as assigned.
