Campus IT Security Analyst

Overview

Are you a proponent of security to Higher Education institutions? This role focuses on monitoring, responding to, and mitigating security threats in our Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. We’re looking for a Security Analyst who will work closely with our Network Operations Center and other teams to ensure the security and integrity of client networks and systems. Based remotely, you’ll be monitoring and mitigating security threats across the country.

What you’ll be doing

As part of the Managed Cloud and Services team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring security for a variety of clients. At all levels, colleagues will rely on your prompt response, quick detection, and strong documentation to provide best in class provider service. It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with:

Threat Monitoring & Response
  • Monitor our environment for security breaches.
  • Collaborate with the NOC and other teams to respond to detected threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain SLAs.
Incident Response
  • Act as the point person for security incidents in our MSP environment.
  • Provide leadership in investigations, response and mitigation of threats in partnership with the NOC and other stakeholders.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Perform risk assessment on client networks and systems.
  • Recommend effective mitigation strategies.
  • Promote culture of security awareness among NOC and other teams.
Security Tool Management
  • Manage and maintain security infrastructure for our clients including firewalls, IDS / IPS, and endpoint protection.

  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (OWASP, CIS, etc.).
  • Hands on experience in a MSP environment including firewalls, IDS / IPS, and endpoint protection.
  • Proven track record of leading incident response in partnership with NOC teams.
  • Experience with SQL, KQL, and/or other data query languages.
  • TCP / IP, computer networking, routing and switching.
  • IDS / IPS, penetration and vulnerability testing.
  • Firewall and intrusion detection / prevention protocols.
  • Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Network protocols and packet analysis tools.
  • Anti-virus and anti-malware.
  • Recommended certifications such as Network+, Security+, CASP+, CEH.
