Job summary

Morningside University is accepting applications for the HVAC & General Electrical Technician in the Physical Plant Department. This role maintains and repairs air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, and associated controls, with secondary electrical duties and general maintenance around campus.

The position operates 6:00 am–3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with an on-call schedule as needed. Strong safety awareness and the ability to work independently and with others are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous HVAC experience required.
• Refrigeration license preferred.
• Electrical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and water coolers.
• Training in theory and hands-on refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning systems.
• Understanding of safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair HVAC equipment including air conditioners, coolers, freezers, and boilers.
• Maintain and troubleshoot digital and pneumatic control systems, thermostats, and valves.
• Support preventive maintenance schedules and document work performed.
