Qualifications

• Must hold or obtain an unrestricted Rhode Island Medical License prior to appointment.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) Degree from an accredited medical school.
• Valid DEA License;
• Board Certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and/or Emergency Medicine.
• Minimum two years of demonstrated post-residency experience in ambulatory primary care.
• Demonstrated clinical competence in delivering healthcare to late adolescents and young adults.
• Credentialing and medical staff association qualifications at supporting hospital.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills requirement.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and community.
• Experience with electronic health records/practice management software.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsabilités

• Participate as part of the health care delivery team to provide primary ambulatory care to eligible patients.
• Obtain health histories, perform exams, order tests, establish care plans, and educate patients accordingly.
• Ensure follow-up via consultations and referrals when appropriate.
• Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures including suturing and wound care.
• Provide sports medicine guidance to campus athletes and recreational participants.
• Collaborate with clinicians and staff on clinical guidelines and policies.
• Maintain clinical records and represent the Student Health Service on campus/community.
• Provide counseling to improve health outcomes and address mental health needs.
• Contribute to development and implementation of patient care guidelines.
