Job summary
The University of Portland Health & Counseling Center seeks a Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner to serve as a primary healthcare provider, delivering comprehensive care for students and supporting health, wellness, and academic success. The 10-month assignment runs August through May, with summers off, and compensation offered for all 12 months.
Required: Master’s in nursing or PA, Oregon license, family or adult NP/PA certification, and DEA/BLS where applicable.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program.
- Two+ years in family or internal medicine.
- Experience in higher education health services preferred.
- Experience precepting NP students preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for acute and chronic conditions.
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
- Manage electronic health records and clinical protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Support inclusive and welcoming healthcare environment for diverse students.
