Job summary

Alabama A&M University’s Student Health Services seeks a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care to university students under the Medical Director. You will participate in on-call rotations, assist with staff training, and refer patients to medical and mental health specialists as appropriate.

The role requires a Master’s degree, Alabama RN license, FNP certification with national certification, and current CPR/AED. Strong communication and teamwork in a diverse setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• Alabama Board of Registered Nursing license required.
• FNP certification and national certification required.
• CPR and AED current.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct student/patient care.
• Participates in night and weekend medical on-call rotations.
• Completes charting and required paperwork within 24 hours.
• Promotes health consciousness, patient accountability and self-care.
• Provides patient teaching as clinically appropriate.
• Reports clinic hazards/concerns to supervisor.
• Makes referrals to medical and mental health specialists as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
