Job summary

Marquette University Grounds Maintenance team is seeking a Groundskeeper to care for campus landscapes and assist with events. You will perform pruning, weeding, planting, chemical applications, mowing and watering to keep grounds in top condition.

Responsibilities include snow removal, leading student crews, and operating campus equipment safely. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required, with preference for experience in groundskeeping in a university setting.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience or at least 4 years of groundskeeping experience.
• A valid driver’s license with favorable record is also required.
• Candidate must be service oriented and possess the ability to demonstrate reading and writing comprehension and competency skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks related to grounds maintenance such as pruning, weeding, planting, chemical applications, mowing and watering.
• Provide snow removal services.
• Assist in setup and take down of special events.
• Operate University equipment and vehicles in a safe manner during the performance of duties.
• Lead assigned student crews.
• Perform any and all related duties as assigned.
