Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Groundskeeper to help maintain campus grounds, ensuring beauty, safety, and accessibility year-round. You will handle landscaping, turf management, irrigation maintenance, and snow removal as part of a dedicated facilities team.

The role runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and requires outdoor work in varying weather conditions. A high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of maintenance experience (or trade school) are required; ability to lift up to 100 lbs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years general maintenance-related work experience OR completion of a trade school required.
• Must be able to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 100 lbs. for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform proper care of landscape and grounds.
• Operate equipment including lawn care, power washers, and snow removal tools.
• Provide upkeep of grounds equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Perform maintenance in indoor/outdoor gardens and manage litter control.
• Assist with signage, plumbing, irrigation, and outdoor lighting maintenance.
• Perform power-washing and maintenance of hard surface areas.
• Report safety concerns to supervisor in writing or electronically.
• Record hours and maintain clean, safe work areas.
