Job summary

NEOMED seeks a dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain outdoor spaces, mow, trim, and manage campus landscapes, including greenhouse operations. The role supports Campus Operations and emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork across the university campus.

The position involves plant care, pesticide applications per regulations, and related duties to keep grounds aesthetically pleasing for students, faculty, and visitors. Starting pay and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State of Ohio vehicle operator's license.
• Prior grounds/landscaping maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of grounds maintenance, equipment and safety procedures.
• Ability to perform duties outdoors exposed to variable weather conditions.
• Availability to be on call 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Grounds maintenance and cleanliness: mowing, trimming, edging, aerating, and snow/ice removal; keep grounds, walkways, and parking areas clean and debris-free.
• Greenhouse operations and landscaping: operate campus greenhouse, cultivate plants, maintain landscaping to enhance campus aesthetics.
• Plant care and maintenance: plant, transplant, prune trees, shrubs, and flowers to sustain landscape.
• Pesticide application: apply pesticides as needed in accordance with labels and regulations.
• Miscellaneous duties: empty/clean exterior refuse containers; perform auto mechanic tasks as needed; other duties as assigned.
