Job summary

SSC Services For Education is seeking a Groundskeeper for TAMU Galveston to maintain campus lawns, gardens, and landscapes. The role supports a safe, clean, and attractive campus environment with regular mowing, pruning, weeding, and seasonal grounds upkeep.

Candidates should have at least one year of turf or landscaping experience and a valid Class C driver’s license. The position offers full-time and part-time schedules, with standard daytime hours, at TAMU Galveston and other district

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of turf and/or landscaping experience.
• Valid non‑CDL Class C driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to staff and visitors, with attention to detail.
• Inspect common areas and report deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspect exterior property and grounds, documenting any deficiencies.
• Mow lawns weekly during the appropriate season and clean landscaping tools after use.
• Trim bushes and maintain neat appearances.
• Weed flowerbeds weekly or more often as needed.
• Shovel snow from exterior walkways during winter and apply salt or sand to icy areas.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a professional customer environment.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
