Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education at Mercy University in Dobbs Ferry, NY is hiring a full-time COOK. The role requires prior cooking experience and offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with pay ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include preparing food to recipes, proper portioning and temperatures, and maintaining a clean kitchen. You will assist in ordering supplies and follow HACCP standards to ensure food safety.

• Prior cooking experience is required.

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists in ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Follows HACCP standards and safety procedures.
