Job summary

California State University, Stanislaus in Stockton seeks a Temporary Student Assistant through Federal Work Study. Start date on or after September 17, 2026, ending on or before May 22, 2027, with possible reappointment based on budget and performance.

Responsibilities include greeting and assisting students and visitors at the Warrior Welcome Hub, monitoring spaces, supporting classrooms and events, and providing general administrative help to keep the campus organized and welcoming.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
• Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
• Demonstrated customer service experience and a positive, helpful attitude.
• Basic computer skills, including Windows and/or MacOS, Microsoft Office/365, internet browsers, and email.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and explain solutions in a non-technical manner.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing needs.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, and greet and assist students, staff, faculty, and visitors at the Warrior Welcome Hub (front counter help desk).
• Monitor hallways, classrooms, and common areas; report any concerns to university officials or Securitas as needed.
• Assist with classroom and event readiness by reviewing schedules and ensuring space setup and cleanliness.
• Offer general administrative and logistical support for classes, events, and activities.
• Promote a safe, welcoming, and organized campus environment.
• Outreach and event support.
• Other duties as assigned.
