Job summary

USC Auxiliary Services at the University of Southern California seeks a Food Service Shift Leader to oversee daily dining operations, train staff, and ensure top-notch guest experiences. The role reports to supervisors and supports senior management in delivering consistent service.

You will guide back- and front-of-house teams, manage tasks, monitor safety, and respond to customer feedback while maintaining brand standards and high food-safety practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school or equivalent.
• Minimum Experience: 1 year in customer service in a retail or restaurant environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork and adaptability to fast-paced dining settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead back-of-house and front-of-house activities; assign tasks and schedule staff.
• Train staff on safety, service standards and procedures; coach to performance.
• Provide customer service, handle orders, pricing and inventory checks.
• Monitor opening/closing checklists and report daily operations to management.
• Support management and uphold USC Code of Ethics in daily duties.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment and teamwork.
