Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, recreation, health promotion, education, sports management or related field.
• Required: CPR, AED and first aid certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• Required: NCCA Accredited fitness certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision for day-to-day operations of group fitness and personal training programs.
• Recommends and implements strategy for program development to grow revenue and participation.
• Staff supervision including hiring, mentoring, training, scheduling, and payroll for instructors and trainers.
• Leads recruitment and supervision of student employees and graduate assistants.
• Provides ongoing staff development through training and in-services.
• Coordinates group fitness instructor and personal trainer certification courses.
• Assists with annual budget submission and purchasing for fitness programs.
• Implements publicity strategies to maximize program participation.
