Job summary

Georgia State University Police Department seeks a Fire Safety Manager to join the Office of Emergency Management on the Atlanta campus. You will ensure fire code compliance across university buildings, coordinate inspections and maintenance of fire protection systems, and supervise Fire Alarm Technicians.

The role includes developing evacuation plans, conducting fire drills, and collaborating with campus partners to strengthen safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science or related field with five years safety and prevention experience.
• Experience with fire code compliance, safety program development, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor inspections, testing, and servicing of fire alarm, sprinkler, fire extinguisher, FM200, fire hydrant, and hood systems.
• Develop, implement, and maintain building evacuation plans and conduct fire drills across facilities.
• Oversee Fire Alarm Technicians and provide leadership, training, and performance oversight.
• Respond to fire alarms and incidents and coordinate with police and fire departments.
• Review invoices and process payments for fire safety inspections and services.
