Job summary

Kishwaukee College is seeking an Assistant Director of Campus Operations to oversee custodial, maintenance, and grounds operations, coordinating daily work and preventive schedules. The role includes managing BAS, responding to alarms, and coordinating contractors for repairs and improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering/construction background and at least three years' facilities experience, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
• Three years of facilities, maintenance, construction, or physical plant operations experience
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a college vehicle

Responsibilities

• Direct custodial, maintenance, and grounds operations, coordinating daily work orders and preventive maintenance schedules
• Support administration of the computerized preventive maintenance program
• Maintain, monitor, and support the college’s Building Automation System (BAS) and CMMS
• Develop working knowledge of campus HVAC systems, adjust setpoints, manage scheduling, troubleshoot issues
• Manage facility-related projects from planning through completion (scope, schedule, budget)
• Coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors for repairs and services
• Prepare specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates for projects
• Monitor budgets and track capital improvement expenditures
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutes and regulations
• Support campus events and after-hours operations
• Recommend operational improvements and efficiency enhancements
• Serve as liaison between Campus Operations and other college departments
• Occasional evening and weekend hours
