Job summary

University of South Carolina seeks a Central Shops Area Coordinator to assist in planning and coordinating maintenance across campus shops. You will work with supervisors, skilled trades and campus partners to ensure safe, efficient work delivery and proper scoping of work orders.

Proven ability to plan, track costs, and maintain records is essential, as is strong communication with management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to solve problems, take initiative to provide services, develop strong customer relationships.
• Must have the ability to measure cost and performance, keep accurate records, communicate effectively, develop proper procedures.
• Must have the ability to define actions to resolve specific problems situations, communicate to management, and prepare reports.
• Must be able to plan, direct and review work.
• Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to interface and work well with subordinates, peers, outside departments and other business professionals.
• Must have ability to operate computer systems and their respected software for providing facility management reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist Central Shops Supervisors with planning, prioritization, scheduling, coordination of preventive and corrective maintenance across assigned campus maintenance shops.
• Ensure maintenance work is properly scoped, resourced and materials identified in advance, schedules coordinated with campus partners.
• Support work order flow, backlog management, preventive maintenance compliance, outage coordination, service delivery and continuous improvement using the CMMS (AIM).
